Inner family healing, with Maryann
My Journey with IFS
My journey with Internal Family Systems (IFS) began through my own search for healing and self-discovery. I tried many forms of therapy that really felt more isolating than supportive, until I discovered IFS—a beautifully compassionate method that gently leads us back to our core, wise, and courageous self.
For me, IFS has been life-changing. It helped me confront the challenges of a difficult childhood and heal deep-seated beliefs about my worth. As a single mother, it has become a daily guide, empowering me to recognize and break cycles of generational trauma and build a healthy, happy relationship with my son. By addressing limiting blocks, IFS has also given me the clarity and confidence to start fresh, creating a new life in Thailand doing something I love. This journey has shown me the profound potential of compassionate self-awareness and healing.
My Artistic Approach
Alongside my therapeutic practice, I bring an artistic lens to my work. Painting is my way of visually exploring the energy and emotion of our inner worlds. Through soft, abstract watercolours, I capture the dynamics of this healing modality. It can be hard to explain how IFS works without experiencing it, I find this simple visualisation a good way to capture and describe the concepts.
Accessible and Compassionate Support
I believe in providing support that is compassionate, accessible, and deeply grounded in care. My work addresses a wide range of mental health challenges and life transitions, from deeply ingrained patterns to moments of crisis and upheaval. While I am not a licensed psychologist or counselor, my practice is firmly rooted in the transformative principles of IFS (you can find me registered on the IFS Directory), always honoring the scope of my training and experience. I structure my fees to reflect this, making support more accessible, because everyone deserves help navigating the complexities of life.
